Toes

The Open Toes Shoe Pledge

Alright Ladies, it's that time of the year again. Just a friendly reminder!! Please raise your big toes and repeat after me: (The Open Toes Shoe Pledge)...

As a member of the Cute toes Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toes shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my toes will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free on my toes or vow to keep polished toes fresh, intact and toes chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my toes.

I will sand down any mounds of skin on my toes before they turn hard and yellow. I will shave the hairs off my big toes.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in toes corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my toes need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my toes are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toes ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and my toes begin to look like Vienna sausages.

If I have been privy to the magic that is Toes Soup, I will share that knowledge and experience with the non-initiated.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her toes are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy toes look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my toes while wearing them.

I will promise to go my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $10 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals... Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters.

Toes

Toes are the digits of the foot of an animal. Many animal species walk on their toes, such as cats, and are called digitigrade. Humans, and other animals that walk on the soles of their feet, are plantigrade; hoofed animals are unguligrade.

A toe ring is a ring made out of various metals and non-metals worn on any of the toes. It is almost exclusively worn on womens toes. The second toe of either foot is where they are worn most commonly. In the US and most western countries they are a relatively new toe fashion accessory.

Toe rings in India (bichiya)

Wearing of toe rings on the toes is an old practice in India. It is worn as a symbol of married state by Hindu women and is called bichiya (pronounced: bee-chee-ya) in Hindi. They are usually made of silver and worn on the toes in pairs (unlike the trend in Western countries, where they are worn on toes singly or in unmatched pairs) on the second toe of both feet. Traditionally they are quite ornate, though more contemporary designs of toe rings are now being developed to cater to the modern bride. Some 'bichiya sets' may have pairs for four of the five toes, excluding the little pinky. 'Bichiyas' may not be made of gold, as gold holds a 'respected' status and may not be worn below the waist by Hindus. But this is not followed very strictly and toe rings made of gold and diamonds are commonly seen on toes.

Steel Toed boots

Steel-toe boots (or sometimes safety boots) are durable boots made of leather (sometimes "vegan leather") or rubber that have a steel reinforcement in the toe to protect the toes against falling objects. They also often have steel inserts in their soles to prevent puncture from below. Vegan leather may be made from a durable microfibre such as Lorica.

Steel-toe boots are important in the construction industry and in many industrial settings. Occupational safety and health legislation or insurance requirements may require the use of such boots, to protect your toes, in some settings, and may mandate certification of such boots and the display of such certification directly on the boots. (For example in Canada, certified boots have a Canadian Standards Association green triangle on them.) That means that your toes will be safe,

Safety footwear now comes in many styles, not just as boots but also as shoes, trainers and clogs. Some are quite formal, for supervising engineers who must visit sites where protective footwear is mandatory.

Toe Socks

Toe socks are socks that have been knitted so that each toe is individually encased the same way that fingers are individually encased in a glove for the toes.

Striped toe socks

Toes socks came into popularity in the 1970s and made a comeback in the 1990s as a novelty item worn by adolescents. These later toes socks are usually almost knee high, striped, and sometimes worn with flip-flops to make a fashion statement. By 2004 they were available in plain colours and being adopted as normal toes footwear.

Toes socks were popularized by people such as author Norman Mailer and Tweek, a character on the popular animated series South Park.

Open Toed Shoes

Open toed shoes are cool in summer and always sexy to me. I like open toed high heels very much and have been known to buy them as gifts. As far as theit toes, they should be clean and well manicured toes. Polish on a womans toes is optional. Great fun with toes!

Toes are toes but well maintained toes are a good thing and men that like toes will notice nice toes every time.
