I've worked with John Davidson,to sell out audiences, many times. Young or old, gay or straight, they all love John Davidson and what a show John Davidson puts on. John Davidson is a real crowd pleaser.

John Davidson and I were working, for a week at The Beverly Hills Supper Club, in Southgate, Kentucky (Just outside of Cincinnati). John Davidson noticed that there was no exit door back stage and complained to the club owner about it. "What if there was a fire, in this place? How would the band and I get out? I will not work here again unless you install an exit door, back here!" (It was a large sprawling club with rooms attached to hallways and long corridors. It was difficult to find your way around even in the best of conditions).

The next time we appeared at this club an exit door had been installed and sure enough, a fire broke out during one of our shows. We all rushed for that back stage exit and were saved. Doug, our conductor, realized that John Davidson had forgotten the sheet music, on his piano. Doug rushed back into the building in spite of our pleading for John Davidson to leave the sheet music where it was. Doug was never seen again. There were, in all, a hundred and sixty five people who died in that fire. Whenever you go into a building, especially a night club, always look for a way out. If it were not for John Davidson forcing the club owner to install a rear exit I would not be here to tell the story!
